How to become a Public Notary

There are two ways to become a Notary in the State of Georgia or to renew an existing Notary commission in the State of Georgia.

Important Notes:
If you are a legal resident of the State of Georgia, you may only apply in your county of residence.
If you are a legal resident of a state bordering on the State of Georgia, and are regularly employed or carry on a business or profession in Georgia, you may only apply in the county of employment.

Note: Notary filing fees subject to change based on county residence.
